Missing the Total Eclipse

For the first time since 1638, we’ll have a total lunar eclipse on the Winter Solstice. Most of North America will have a great view of it, except us. Sadly, Central Ohio has clouds and snow on the way tonight and that's going to obscure the lunar show for our region.
In places with clear skies, they’ll see the earth’s shadow begin to cross over the moon’s surface at 1:33am EST. The total eclipse begins at 2:41am, hits its midpoint at 3:53am and the whole event is finished by 5:01am.

There was a partial eclipse earlier this year, in June, but this is the first total eclipse since February 2008.
